What is Dermalux?

Dermalux is a LED light therapy treatment that offers a safe, clinically-proven and effective solution for all skin types. The three meticulously optimized wavelengths of light delivered by Dermalux LED Phototherapy targets specific cells to stimulate natural cellular processes to accelerate skin rejuvenation and treat a wide range of skin concerns.

The result is a visible improvement in skin tone and texture, reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduced redness and inflammation. Dermalux delivers high doses of targeted blue, red and near-infrared energy deep into the dermis where it is absorbed by photo-receptors to trigger photobiomodulation.

By utilizing different combinations and intensities of light, Dermalux can be tailored to deliver the most effective results for each individual skin concern being treated.

This leads to enhancement in collagen production, reduction in inflammation, increased circulation and cell turnover. Each wavelength has a unique action when absorbed by the skin: Blue light kills acne-causing bacteria whilst simultaneously reducing inflammation. Red light boosts collagen production to improve elasticity and firmness as well as reducing inflammation. Near-infrared penetrates deepest, reducing inflammation at a cellular level and stimulating cell regeneration.
Dermalux is suitable for all skin types with no downtime or adverse effects. Because the light energy delivered is not harmful UV radiation, there is no risk of burning or long term damage to the skin making it an ideal lunchtime treatment software.

A course of 6-8 treatments is recommended for optimal results however many clients start to see benefits from as little as 1-2 sessions. Maintenance treatments are then required periodically to sustain results.

One session takes between 15 – 30 minutes depending on the areas being treated and clients report feeling a warmth similar to that experienced from natural sunlight during their session. There are no restrictions on activities post treatment so you can resume your normal daily routine immediately. To achieve optimal results we recommend avoiding sun exposure and using sunscreen with an SPF30 or above whilst using Dermalux LED Light Therapy.

Who is it for?

Dermalux is suitable for everyone. If pigmentation, congestion, aging and scarring is concerning you then the Dermalux LED light therapy is suitable for you.

Dermalux can be used to treat a variety of facial and neck skin conditions, including acne, wrinkles, and sun damage. Dermalux can be used as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures, such as facials or hydrafacials.
Dermalux can also be used on the body.

How long until I see results?

Typically, clients will see results after just one session; however, the full effects of the treatment may not be apparent for a few days or even weeks. Depending on the specific condition being treated, Dermalux may need to be performed on a regular basis in order to maintain results. For instance, those with chronic conditions like acne or rosacea may need to receive treatments every week or two, while those with more minor concerns may only need to come in for treatments once a month. Regardless of the frequency, most clients report feeling an improvement in their skin’s appearance after just a few Dermalux sessions.

HOW DOES DERMALUX TREATMENT WORK?

Consultation (10-15 mins)

We'll arrange a one-to-one in person consultation with one of our aesthetics experts to determine the best course of treatment for you.

On the Day (30-45 mins)

We'll disinfect your skin, before delivering 10 small injections, carefully spaced out to give maximal results. You'll feel a slight pinch which quickly goes away.
The injection sites will be raised from approximately 24 hours and they don’t require any massaging. They can feel similar to a pimple under the skin

Results & review

The results of your Profhilo treatment will continue to improve over a six week period. We'll review your outcome with you and will normally book you in for your next treatment session 4-5 months away.

Dermalux vs IPL Photofacial
Which Photofacial is Right for You?

When it comes to skin care, there are a lot of options out there. Two of the most popular treatments are Dermalux and IPL Photofacial. So, what’s the difference between these two treatments?

Dermalux is a LED light therapy treatment that uses different shades of light to target specific skin concerns. It can be used to treat everything from acne to fine lines and wrinkles. IPL Photofacial, on the other hand, uses intense pulsed light to target pigmentation issues like sunspots and melasma.

Both treatments are non-invasive and require no downtime. They can be done in as little as 30 minutes, and you’ll see results after just one session. However, IPL Photofacial is typically a bit more expensive than Dermalux.

So, which treatment is right for you? If you’re looking for a general anti-aging treatment, Dermalux is a great option. If you’re specifically concerned with pigmentation issues, then IPL Photofacial would be the better choice. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your personal goals and budget.
