Our Broad Band Light (BBL) treatment procedure is a fully personalised treatment that caters to each client’s unique skincare needs.

PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT

We conduct a thorough assessment to ensure your suitability. This includes checking for light-sensitive medications and conditions affected by flashing lights, such as photosensitive epilepsy. It’s important to stay out of the sun and refrain from using self-tanning or fake tanning products for at least two to three weeks prior to the treatment. These precautions ensure a safe and effective treatment process.

DURING THE TREATMENT

You will wear protective goggles for the duration of the procedure. We will also apply an ultrasonic gel to your face, which aids treatment application and cools the skin for increased comfort. The treatment is customized, with various modes and passes designed to address your specific skin concerns.

POST-TREATMENT

We apply a protective layer of mineral-based SPF to shield the skin. Aftercare includes avoiding heat-inducing activities such as exercise, saunas, and hot tubs for 48 to 72 hours to let the skin settle. We also recommend you continue avoiding sun exposure for the subsequent two weeks and apply sunscreen liberally.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

Side effects of the treatment can include temporary skin puffiness and a slight edema. You may also notice that the pigment in your skin is visibly lifted post-treatment. This pigment will gradually come to the surface and naturally slough off. Some skin crusting is normal—this is just the pigment lifting. There’s no need to scratch or pick at it—it will typically fall off during your regular shower routine.

Post-treatment, your skin may feel a little warm and flushed – but rest assured, it’s perfectly normal and not uncomfortable. In terms of pain, the BBL laser treatment is easy going. You’re in good hands!

Do I need numbing cream for my BBL laser treatment?

No need to worry about using numbing cream before your bbl laser treatment. In fact, it’s better not to use it! Numbing cream can constrict your blood vessels, which can actually diminish the redness – the very thing we’re targeting with this treatment. So while it’s not necessary, it could also potentially interfere with the effectiveness of your treatment. We want the best results for you, so we recommend skipping the numbing cream for this one.

Does BBL Laser work?

Post-treatment, your skin will be more sensitive, making the use of SPF indispensable in reducing the risk of hyper or hypo pigmentation.
